MobReady IEEP Workshop - September 2023
Through the leadership of Mob-Ready General Manager Mark Reyes, we were provided with another opportunity to deliver our ZSIC Indigenous Employee Employment Program – IEEP, at the NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce, Newcastle office.
ZSIC delivered an innovative, culturally designed IEEP workshop for seven new Indigenous MobReady recruits stepping into the workforce. Many key topics were addressed, including those that support employees in the workplace for awareness and compliance, as part of their professional journeys.
1. Work on time
- Punctuality, preparedness, readiness, participation, contractual agreements (earning your wullung $$$)
- The importance of workplaces and who runs them?
2. Workplace Culture
- Keeping our workplace vibrant, safe and an environment to want to work in
3. Succession Planning
- Where do you see yourself in 5yrs time?
- How do I get there?
- What supports do I need?
4. Cultural Supervision
- What is cultural safety?
- What does it look like in the workplace?
- What is genuine Indigenous Leadership look like and how to apply it, eg: RAPs, NAIDOC, Reconciliation Week
- Being heard on your professional and cultural fronts of your life, and planning forward
5. Chain/Line of Management, eg: Consultation & Engagement
- Who is my manager and why?
- Effective cultural and professional communication
